Hoya carnosa 'Silver Moon'
Description: Hoyas (Waxplant) are a flowering tropical vine plant in the Apocynaceae family originating from Asia and Australia. In their original habitat they live on trees, larger plants and cliffsides, rooting either on the trees themselves, the Nutrient rich and well aerated soil below or in rocks, they are really easy to care for and we gladly recommend them to beginners.
Soil: https://inplanted.hu/Inplanted-mix-2L-Viaszviragoknak; chunky soil specifically made for hoyas and other plants with similar soil needs using red Pinus pinaster bark as the main ingredient
Water: Moderate, the soil should be kept dryer because they store water in their leaves.
Light: Bright, indirect sunlight is ideal. Adequate light is essential for flowering. While the plant can tolerate lower light conditions, its growth may slow significantly. Most members of the genus can also be acclimated to direct sunlight, which may cause the leaves to develop more intense or altered coloration.
Humidity: Moderate. While they are not sensitive to dry air, they grow best in higher humidity. Increased humidity can promote faster growth, more vibrant leaf colour, and may encourage earlier flowering.
Nutrient: liquid orchid or indoor plant fertilizer according to fertilizer description
Other: It is recommended to use plant support poles or trellis next to the plant or use grating/some other frame. Officially Hoyas are not poisonous but contact of the mouth/skin/eyes with the plant sap should be avoided and the plant should be placed out of reach to children and animals.
Good to know:
- if you place an order online we will send you a plant that is almost identical in appearance and size to the one in the pictures, but in all cases the same species and variety. You can request a photo of the plants you want to order in advance by e-mail/message. We are unable to send photos after placing an order.
- plants grown by us may differ from those in the pictures and may be sold cut back, which is inherent in the growing process. Because plants are living creatures there are no two individuals, so in our offer you can buy the species/variety, not a photographed "decorative element".
- the appearance of products (plants) without the 'NEW' label may differ from what is shown in the pictures
Shipping:
- in cold weather (<15°C) it is highly recommended to order heatpacks-> if you did not order heatpacks or do not receive your package for several days, we cannot accept any complaints regarding heat shock to the plants
- our company uses one of the safest packaging techniques, but even so, minor damages to the plants may occur. Please keep keep this in mind when ordering online!
- due to the stress caused by shipping, leaf/flower/bud shedding may occur to a small extent. After unpacking, the leaves will grow within a few days and the plant will take on its original shape (in the right environment)
- some plants have additional shipping costs due to their large size (noted separately)
- if there are any problems with the packaging of your order (e.g.: additional shipping costs for ordering a large quantity of products or bulky packages; unsafe shipping when ordering soils and plants at the same time), our staff will contact you
Pests:
- like most of all living creatures in this planet, plants have their own pests, which is a natural part of growing and keeping them
- in our greenhouses we primarily use biological pest control (predatory mites, ladybug larvae), but pests can still occur on the plants
- in the case of a large infestation, we only accept complaints within 24 hours of purchase (note: 2-3 pests/spots do not count as a large infestation)
Repotting:
- Plants in pure growing media (peat/coconut/sphagnum moss) should always be repotted into a suitable soil mixture (usually after 2 weeks) to ensure their continued growth. You can find our own high quality mixed soils in the "Planting substrates" category.
